From 1976 to 1988, Bardiya Reserve expanded from 368 sq. km to 968 sq. km. Later, in 1988, it was designated a National Park. Good morning! Boundless Adventure added a sightseeing day in Kathmandu on the second day of the itinerary to enhance your tour. Get ready and have your breakfast; our representative will be outside your Hotel to pick you up. During the day, you will visit four different UNESCO Heritage sites in Kathmandu.

Kathmandu Durbar Square is your first sightseeing destination in Kathmandu. It lies 1.6km from Thamel. After visiting one of the ancient royal palaces, Kathmandu Durbar Square, your drive will move towards Swayambhunath. An ancient religious complex, Swayambhunath lies 2.1km from Kathmandu Durbar Square.

Boudhanath Stupa is the third sightseeing destination. Known for being the largest Spherical Stupa in the world, Boudhanath is a prominent religious hub for Buddhist philosophers. The day ends with visiting Pashupatinath temple, a sacred Hindu site. After witnessing the Night Flamework “Sandhya Aarati,” we drop you off at your Hotel for a night’s stay and dinner.

Get ready for your journey. Per the time details we provide, we will pick you up from your Hotel and take you to Kathmandu’s domestic Airport for a flight to Nepalgunj. It takes 40 minutes to get to Nepalgunj Airport from Kathmandu Airport in an eye-appealing aerial flight.

As you land at the Nepalgunj airport, our team member will meet you and take you to Bardiya National Park by car. It takes about two and a half to three hours to reach Bardiya National Park from Nepalgunj airport. Your Hotel is outside the Bardiya National Park. Check-in and take a rest. Your accommodation and dinner are at the Hotel near Bardiya National Park.

Jungle and culture explore day.

Day four is your activities day in Bardiya National Park. Early in the morning, after breakfast, get into the National Park. Your first activity is a jungle walk with a naturalist. On the Jungle walk, observe the numerous flora and fauna of the Bardiya National Park. You can immerse yourself in the national park’s biodiversity on the jungle walk. As the park is home to 42 herpetofauna, 120 fishes, 61 species of mammals, and 513 species of birds, the jungle walk provides you an up-close with those faunas.

After the Jungle walk, get ready to experience the Tharu culture of the area. Witness the cultural programs conducted by Tharu and also grab the opportunity to immerse yourself with them and try their local cuisine.
After a jungle walk and cultural exploration, return to the Hotel for an overnight stay and dinner.
