You’ll stay overnight at Shivalaya rather than in Jiri because, from Shivalaya, starting your trekking journey is easy. If you stay overnight at Jiri, the next morning you’ll again have to drive to Sgivakaya, which will take longer. As you begin your journey from Kathmandu, the journey includes traveling on well-paved roads that are in good condition and suitable for driving by bus, car, and any ground transportation. On the other hand, as you move farther from Kathmandu and get closer to Jiri, the roads are unpaved with dirt and gravel.
The drive from Jiri to Bhanadar is tentatively 46 km/29 miles, taking 3 and a half hours by bus through unpaved roads. However, the time for driving varies depending on different factors, including vehicle speed, road conditions, and weather conditions.
