Best Season

Trekking in the Everest region during spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November) is the perfect choice for any trekker to make. Both of these seasons offer the most incredible views of the Himalayas, green hills, and valleys.

Spring (March-May)

The Spring season is the best season for trekking in the Everest region of Nepal. The spring season offers one of the most beautiful scenic views of the Himalayas, including green hills, forests, and the Sherpa villages. The temperature during this season is very comfortable for day walking on the trail. Nights are cooler as you gain altitude.

The trails are colourful after the rhododendron and wildflowers bloom in the forest, and the surroundings become picturesque, perfect for photographic trekkers. The trail is less crowded compared to the autumn season.

Autumn (September-November)

The autumn season is perfect for trekking in the Jiri to EBC trek. This season offers crystal-clear views of the Himalayas. The temperature during this season is very comfortable for day walking on the trail. Nights are cooler as you gain altitude. Most of the trekkers around the world like to trek during this season due to the clear visibility of the Himalayas, dry and comfortable trail, and postcard-perfect views of the surroundings.

After the monsoon season, the weather gets so clear and crisp that the visibility is so clear that any traveller can enjoy the stunning aerial views from a distance and capture each beauty in their camera lens.

Other Season

The monsoon and winter seasons are not considered for trekking in any high-altitude region. Trekking during these seasons is risky and requires good knowledge about the trekking equipment and trail, and, of course, good experience trekking in the high-altitude region.

Both of these seasons lead to difficulties like heavy rainfall, landslides, snowfall and slippery trails, which make trekking difficult. To trek during these seasons, you must hire an experienced guide and carry all necessary equipment.

Trekking Difficulty

While planning the Jiri to Everest Base Camp trek, it's essential to understand the level of difficulty involved. The trek is considered a moderate to challenging trek. The trek reaches up to 5,550m, and the weather becomes unpredictable. It is difficult for beginners to trek for several days in the high-altitude region, climbing each day.

A trek that takes you through steep ascents and rocky paths, and trekking in a high-altitude region leads to altitude sickness. Proper acclimatization is essential to save yourself from AMS. Also, as you trek in higher altitudes, the weather is unpredictable, so plan accordingly and carry the right gear for the trek.

Physical Preparation

To ensure a successful trekking experience, adequate physical preparation is crucial. Here are some tips to help you get ready:

  • Engage in cardiovascular fitness like running, cycling, or swimming to build endurance.

  • Go on hikes with a loaded backpack to simulate trekking conditions.

  • Incorporate stretching and yoga to improve flexibility and prevent injuries.

Safety Tips for the Jiri to Everest Base Camp Trek

Although the right gear with proper preparation helps in smooth trekking days in the EBC, you still need to focus on some things that help you reach the destination without any difficulty.

  • First and foremost, the thing is proper acclimatization. Plan acclimatization days in your trekking itinerary so that you get enough time for rest during the trek days. Enough acclimatization during the EBC trek helps your body to adjust to the higher-altitude region.

  • Always carry a water bottle and drink plenty of water during the trek. As you trek higher, your body may get dehydrated due to cold weather and continuous walking for several hours. Hydrating enough helps your body maintain your energy level.

  • Walking in the same speed during the trek helps to maintain your body and helps prevent altitude sickness. Walking at the same speed allows your body to adapt to the changing environment.

  • Always carry nutritious snacks like snacks, nuts, biscuits, and some energy bars in your trekking bag. During the trekking days, if you feel hungry or less energetic, you can have a snack and walk smoothly on the trail.

  • If you feel any difficulty in breathing and feel uncomfortable about your body, please stop and take a moment to rest. If needed, descend quickly and inform your guide.

Food and Accommodation

Food and accommodation during the trek must be comfortable and nutritious. Full of nutritious food and getting good sleep helps trekkers to maintain their energy and makes them feel comfortable during the trekking days.

In city areas like Kathmandu and Namche Bazaar, you’ll find private rooms with most of the modern facilities. Also, the food options in the lower elevation are wider, and you’ll eat a variety of food in your lodge.

Accommodation

Most of the teahouses have common rooms, and a few offer hot showers at a little extra charge along with bathroom amenities. As you trek higher, the facilities become very basic yet comforting. You’ll experience the best services in a limited space.

Food

Food is available at the same teahouses mostly and does include Nepali food like dal bhat (rice and lentil soup), besides pasta and soups, a few other types of Western cuisine, and so on. The menu may differ from place to place, but a vegetarian option is guaranteed. The food they provide is full of nutrients and carbohydrates that keep your energy stable during the trekking days. For drinking water, always carry a water bottle and water purification tablets.

First and best trekking experience in Annapurna

t was our first trekking experience in Nepal, and I am delighted that the journey was exceptional. As an experienced trekker, we chose a popular trekking point, Annapurna Base Camp. The famous trek with a reputable trekking agency, Boundless Adventure, was commendable.

The crew members of Boundless welcomed us at Tribhuvan International Airport with warm hospitality. From the start to the end of our journey, they cared for us and managed every logistics. The trek was cheerfulness. Everything was decidedly satisfying, from the drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara to Nayapul to the beginning of the trek. The smiling mountain range, simple villages and way of living, birds chirping, and fresh air were our companions after our friendly guide. We strongly recommend Boundless Adventure and ABC Trek.

Majestic beauty of Ghorepani Poon Hill

I heard a lot about the beauty of Nepal from many of my friends. Luckily, last October, I got to experience heaven with my two friends. One of my friends has already come to Nepal and has trekked through Boundless Adventure, and we also chose the same company for our journey. We planned an extended vacation but had to leave as soon as possible due to some issues. Mr.Dambar helped us a lot while selecting our package. After lots of discussions and going through information about each trekking destination, we chose to go for the Ghorepani Poon Hill trek. The Ghorepani Poon Hill is the best for people like us with limited time. The trek was a perfect mixture of little adventure and nature’s beauty. The early sunrise view and its ray on the summit of the mountain still satisfy my mind—a most recommended trekking destination and trekking agency, Boundless Adventure.

Upper Mustang were breathtaking

My friends and I recently completed the Upper Mustang trek with Boundless Adventure, and the experience was truly unforgettable. From the moment I inquired about the trek to the end of the trip, the team handled everything perfectly and professionally. Our guide was knowledgeable, professional, and well-versed in the history, culture, and geography of Upper Mustang.

The Upper Mustang region was breathtaking, and Boundless Adventure was amazing in customizing our itinerary to ensure we had plenty of time to explore the area. As there were five people in our group, the company gave us a group discount, which made their excellent service even more affordable. We are so thankful for their exceptional kindness and service at a reasonable cost.

Smooth and memorable Langtang Trek

I completed the Langtang Valley trek with my sibling last May 2022. It was our first trekking journey, and Boundless Adventure made it smooth and memorable. Due to our first time trekking in Nepal, we were worried about many things, and Boundless Adventure took care of us dedicatedly. From arranging our hotel in Kathmandu to the Langtang Valley trekking journey, the team didn’t let us feel any burden. Talking about the trek, it was just superb.

From the jaw-dropping scenery of various terrain and mountain peaks to the warm hospitality of the locals, every moment was like a dream. Our guide was highly professional and ensured our safety throughout the journey. I highly recommend this trek and Boundless Adventure.
