Boundless Adventure (p) Ltd is your local tour agency in Nepal. We provide an 11-day itinerary from Kathmandu to Lo-Mangthang, Mustang, and back to Kathmandu. Similarly, we offer flight tickets from Kathmandu. Still, a Jeep will be from the Jomsom airport to Lo-Mangthan and return to Jomson. If you would like to drive from Kathmandu to Mustang and back to Kathmandu by Jeep, it is also possible, but let us know what is comfortable for you.
Your Jeep will be at Jomsom, and you will continue to drive from Jomsom to Mustang. The Jeep trip ends at Jomsom, but your journey starts from Kathmandu within 11 days. Similarly, a guide should be returned to Kathmandu with you.

Day: 02 Fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara

Take a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara. The flight takes off from Tribhuwan International Airport, the domestic terminal, and heads westward. It’s a 30-minute flight that lands you in the tranquil city of Pokhara. After lunch, embark on a half-day of sightseeing in Pokhara.

Have breakfast at the Hotel in Pokhara and drive to the airport an hour before your flight’s scheduled departure.

Day: 04 Drive from Samar to Charang (3560m)

Today’s trip takes you through the rugged terrain of the Mustang region. We drive through the Kaligandaki River basin, crossing the river multiple times. We pass through the small villages of Chele, Syangboche, and Ghami.
There are centuries-old monasteries and Buddhist relics along these villages. You will uncover desert-like geography along the way. Overnight at Tcharang.

Day: 05 Drive to Lo-Mangthang (3810m)

We start our journey early in the morning. Mustang weather is fiercely dominated by the raging gush of wind in the morning. We traverse through dense buckwheat and potato fields.
On the way lies Sungda Chorrten, a prominent landmark of the region. This Chorrten bears history with Guru Rinpoche of Tibet, who is said to be buried there.
It’s an hour’s drive before the walled city of Lho Manthang appears before your eyes. Lho Manthang provides an enigmatic vibe of a historical Tibetan kingdom with spread-out monasteries and thatched roof houses with log wood stacked on the roof. Explore the royal palace of Lo Manthang. Overnight at Lo-Manthang.

Day: 06 Lo-Manthan Exploration day

Today, we explored minor attractions in Lo Manthang. After breakfast, we took a horse ride to the mysterious Choser cave, a 45-minute journey from Lho Manthang. Historically, this cave was sacred to Khampa.
Furthermore, we explore Kimaling Monastery, which dates back hundreds of years, and Nyamdo Monastery, which is also prominent among Buddhists.
We return to our hotel via Namgyal Monastery. Overnight at Lo Manthang.
Lo Manthang village has multiple attractions. It is the hub of centuries-old relics, Buddhist scripture, monuments, and heritage. The town stands erect like a tall fort surrounded by typical Thakali houses.
Note: You can take a side trip to the nearest Korala border of Tibet and Nepal, which takes about 3-4 hours roundtrip from Lo Manthang.

Day: 07 Jeep drive to Ghami (3520m)

We begin our return journey from Lo Mangthang, retracing our trail back the same way. After breakfast, we start our drive back. We follow along the Kaligandaki River and reach Ghami, our overnight stop.
Ghami is home to the longest Mani wall in the Mustang district and a Japanese-built hospital.

Day: 08 Jeep drive to Jomsom 2700 m

We drive back, heading further south from Ghami. We traverse the small villages of Chussang, Chele, and Ghiling before reaching Kagbeni. We have our lunch at Kagbeni before continuing our journey.
We checked out of the restricted area of Upper Mustang at Kagbeni and drove west toward Jomsom, where we stayed overnight.
Note: You can take a side trip from Kagbeni to Muktinath temple. It’s a detour that takes about 2 hours roundtrip.

Day: 09 Morning flight to Pokhara and free day

We take a flight to Kathmandu. After a hearty breakfast at Pokhara, our flight will head eastward, parallel to the Himalayan vista.
It’s a 30-minute scenic flight before you land at Kathmandu airport. We will privately transfer to the hotel from the airport, which will be leisure time for the rest of the day in Kathmandu.
