Day 2 Manaslu Circuit Trek Itinerary: Machha Khola to Jagat.

On day 2 of your Manaslu Circuit Trek, you will wake up early in the morning to the beautiful melody of birds chirping at the lodge of Machhakhola. After spending some time admiring the scenic beauty of the small village, you will have a warm breakfast and leave for Jagat.

From here, you will start your journey to the Manaslu Circuit trek on foot, as there is no route available for this transportation medium. Day 2 Manaslu Circuit Trek Itinerary: Machha Khola to Jagat; Jagat is 1410 meters above sea level. Your journey to Jagat from Machhakhola takes approximately 5 to 6 hours on foot.

In the first part of your journey to Jagat, you will pass through Khorla Besi (970 meters), crossing a stream. Khorla Besi is a small village near the Budhigandaki River’s river bank.

After hiking through the Lisyapu, near the bank of Budi Gandaki, you will reach Tatopani. Tato Pani is a natural hot spring situated at 990 meters. It is also known as a natural remedy because of its mineral richness. Tatopani is popular because bathing in this hot spring cures several ailments, including paralysis and skin-related problems.

The temperature of Tato pani is 28 degrees Celsius. It is believed that if someone regularly bathes in water at 50 degrees Celsius, several diseases related to skin and body joints will be cured, including gastritis, back pain, goiter, limb and stomach swelling.

Natural Hot Spring at Manaslu Circuit Trek

Tatopani smells like birch bark (a tree’s outer layer). It has a tank area with three small and big tanks. About three hundred people can dive in a pool at once in Tatopani. Visitors from all around the world visit Tatopani between September and April. Thousands of visitors regularly bathe in natural remedies to cure several skin diseases.

You can take a bath at your preference in Tatopani. If you decide to take a bath, you will have time to enjoy and gain some experience with natural remedy hot springs during your journey to Manaslu Circuit Trek. As Tato Pani is also a Hindu pilgrimage site, you can explore the cultural way of worshipping at the temple situated in the Tatopani.

After spending some time in Tatopani, you will start your journey again, crossing the suspension bridge of Budhi Gandaki to reach Dobhan via Labuchet, Thingjet, and Hulchuk. You will hike for several minutes, and again, you must cross a suspension bridge of Dobhan Khola to reach Dobhan.

The Dobhan is a small remote village near the confluence of two big and small streams, Budhigandaki and Dobhan River. It is at 1070 meters above the sea level.

You will cross the Dobhan to reach Yuru Khola via sulachet and indur. The altitude of Yuru Khola is 1330 meters above sea level. To get Jagat from Yuru Khola, you must cross two bridges again, each situated a very short distance from the other. However, the massive earthquake in 2072 A.D.

Destroyed the trail along the banks of Budghigandaki from Tatopani to Jagat. You don’t have to be worried, as there is another trail from Tatopani that will help you reach Jagat. In the new trail, crossing the several bridges of the Budhigandhaki stream is optional.

After having rest and enjoyment in Tatopani, your journey will begin with Uiya. It is a village where you can find better education facilities, health posts, and post offices. You will hike through different spots, including Bhinchet, Phaibang, Dungla, Rengbon, and Maiku, to reach Lhakpa.

However, you must be careful as you will walk beside the landslide area. During your journey from Uiya to Lhakpa, you will pass through the two small streams.

Gurbang Khola lies between Bhinchet, Phaibang, and Chlse Khola, between the Maiku and Lhakpa. These small streams flow and mix with the Budhigandhaki River, a significant stream.

After arriving at Lhakpa, you will continue your walk to Jagat. Jagat is a beautiful village situated at an altitude of 1410 meters above sea level. The total distance you will cover from Machha Khola to Jagat is 22 km, covering approximately 5 to 6 hours.

Your journey from Maccha Khola to Jagat ends here. Your dinner and night over will be at Jagat’s tea house. As you are tired from your first day of hiking, you will have a sound sleep at Jagat’s Jagat’s small but comfy tea house.

Cultures throughout the trek from Machhakhola to Jagat

Representing the diversity of Nepal, you can find diverse cultures throughout your journey. Macchakhola is just the beginning of the Manaslu Circuit Trek, which means Maccha Khola to Jagat is the route to the upper Manaslu. The lower route comprises the majority of Indo-Aryans, including Chettri, Brahmin, and Magar.

After Jagat, the higher route of the Manaslu Circuit starts, where you will find the majority of Tibeto-Burman and Mongoloids, including Rai, Limbu, Tamang, and Sherpa.

Throughout your trek to Manaslu, you can explore their culture and participate in various religious activities. The route to the Manaslu Circuit Trek is moderate and more accessible than another trek. However, as mentioned above, the old trail that used to be taken before the earthquake of ”Tatopani to Jagat” through Dobhan and Yurukhola is daring.

The whole trail is stone paved, so you would have to be extra careful, but as we have changed our route, there is no need to worry about the routes. However, it would help to be cautious during the trek to avoid trouble.
