It would help if you flew or drove from Kathmandu to Pokhara and Jomsom. Jomsom is where you would like to start your upper Mustang trekking from (2780m).
You will reach Jomsom the same day you fly from Pokhara and start your trek by walking towards Kagbeni Village. This is the start and end of the restricted trekking area. We highly recommend you trek from the beginning of February to the end of November because it is located in the rain-shadow part of the Himalayas of Nepal. It is the only trekking area in Nepal where you can trek even during the monsoon season.
